She was someone who looked you in the eye. She wasn’t afraid to ask questions. Even hard questions. She was generous with praise. Self-deprecating to a fault. She loved the natural world. Especially trees. And she nurtured the people who protect the natural world. I always looked forward to seeing Vicky. She was the kind of person who made you smile. Vicky Bartish’s stardust has returned to the earth she loved, and she will be remembered by friends and colleagues for the funny, compassionate shining light she was.
