I have been to hundreds of garden building projects but, I have never witnessed such a well organized plan and well organized execution until today at this Planting & Irrigation Hands On Workshop.
Studies show we retain 10% of what we read, 50% of what we see and hear, but 90% of what we DO. Surfrider volunteers have learned to evaluate, prepare and build Ocean Friendly Gardens at G3 led workshops. If we want more people to transform landscapes, we need more Hands on Workshops.
From the looks of faces at the end of the Hands on Workshop, these people are ready to get dirty and transform their lawns into drought-tolernt gardens. We are definitely planning on doing more HOWs in the future.

Professional Certification and Training
WWLP is a WaterSense recognized Professional Certification Program for Irrigation System Audits that includes a Rainwater Use Efficiency component. Certified Professionals must complete 16 hours of coursework, including an irrigation system catch-can test and siting of a small rain garden, pass a certification exam and conduct a site evaluation, to be included on the WaterSense website and G3’s “Pro Search.” The program is customized regionally and offered nationwide. G3 assists municipalities, agencies, and environmental organizations in the development of custom training and communication tools, curriculum, programs, events and landscape standards and guidelines.
