Metropolitan Water District Waterwise Garden Guidebook
Watershed wise landscapes are designed to hold onto rainwater and reduce the demand for supplemental irrigation. If we want Southern California landscapes that are truly resilient to changes in climate and ecosystems, we need to go beyond sustainable and water wise principles to begin managing each property as though it were a mini-watershed. Metropolitan Water District is the largest public agency regional water wholesaler in the U.S. providing supplemental water to more than 19 million people across six Southern California counties through 26 member agencies.
