Join us Wednesday, April 15, 2026, for a free three- hour Live Zoom Webinar on, “AB 1572: Tools for Converting Commercial Properties,” hosted by Southern California Gas Company in collaboration with The Metropolitan Water District of Southern California.

Within four years, the state of California will have enacted a ban on using potable water to irrigate turfgrass landscapes that do not provide community benefits for play or gathering. This webinar explores different approaches for transforming these landscapes from spray irrigated turfgrass to more climate-appropriate plantings while simultaneously boosting their “usefulness” within the community. Topics include:

• How to identify Functional vs Nonfunctional turf in CII and HOA settings
• Different strategies for different sites – alternatives to “deadscapes”
• Pricing framework for CII turf conversions
• Examples of successful conversions on different types of landscapes – schools, HOAs, commercial, etc.
• Opportunities within the exemptions
• How to maintain the landscape for long-term resilience
