Take Back the Turf, Flower to the People’s strategy to transition commercial non-functional turf into a highly biodiverse and water conserving groundcover makes its debut in Littleton, CO at the Arapahoe County Administration Building in partnership with Arapahoe County and Denver Water. Join us on Wednesday, May 14, 2025 for a free Open House and Seeds ‘N Soda event (RAIN or SHINE). We’ll give you an insider look at the pilot project and you will be able to help spread spring seed to grow a stronger flowering lawn. Attendees will be able to:
- Learn more about Take Back the Turf strategy
- Hear from Arapahoe County about the rationale behind green-lighting the pilot project
- Actively encourage new plant growth with a group activity called: Seeds ‘N Soda.
This is one of four “human impact” events scheduled for this site in 2025 to engage and connect humans with the soil microbiology beneath their shoes.

Please wear closed-toed shoes and dress comfortably for running around in a landscape. This event will be held RAIN or SHINE so please plan your clothing and footwear accordingly.
A hat, sunscreen, gloves, and water bottle also are recommended. You will not be permitted on the site with open-toed shoes. There will be no exceptions.

Greetings. Thank you for your interest in this event!! For those of you interested in paying by credit card, you certainly can. PayPal is only the processor for our financial transactions, but you don’t have to pay that way. When you click on the Paypal button it takes you to a screen with the option to Pay by Card. After selecting that, you’ll be asked to enter your email and phone for verification. You'll then receive a secure log-in code to access payment by Credit Card. Whew!
