Join us for a ZOOM Webinar (60 minutes) on Tuesday, April 28, 2026, for a free “Nonna and Abuelita’s Garden,” webinar hosted by California American Water and Monterey Peninsula Water Management District
What we now call “homesteading” or “farm-to-table,” your grandmother simply calls la vita. This workshop explores an integration of kitchen and garden in both Italian and Mexican traditions and demonstrates how to recreate the sophisticated system of land management where boundaries between wild nature and domestic life blur to yield self-sufficiency, flavor, and community.
- Welcome to the matriarch’s solar or “pantry garden”
- Explore the transition from soil-to-sauce through the seasons as we grow food for the table
- Utilize grandmother’s zero-waste sensibility
- Preserve tradition and taste in hearts, minds, and (of course) jars
The class is free, but advance registration is required. Please make sure to sign up below.
Start time is 6:00 pm. We’ll open the doors a few minutes early to ensure you have plenty of time to settle into your technology.
