Hands on Workshop: Planting and Irrigation: This workshop is taught in-field, and usually is the third workshop in a Landscape Transformation Series. Attendees learn how to select and place plants in the landscape and lay out drip irrigation.
- Learn about the importance of local native plants in boosting of local biodiversity
- Identify climate-appropriate plants
- Read a landscape plan to understand hydrozoning, plant communities, grouping in odd numbers, mass plantings, and other good landscape design principles
- Select plants from a “nursery” and place them in a landscape
- Properly plant the selected plants including staking and mulching
- Identify essential elements of basic irrigation systems
- Properly lay out a drip irrigation system after the plants are in the ground
- This workshop is targeted to Property-owners and Professionals
- Suggested pre-requisites include: Garden Design Workshop, Drip Irrigation Fundamentals (101), and HOW: Sheet Mulch/Capture Rain
