Manhattan Beach Strand Before G3’s OFG

G3 will be designing an Ocean Friendly Demonstration Garden for a high-profile site on the Manhattan Beach Strand at Manhattan Beach Boulevard and THE OCEAN in Manhattan Beach, CA.  The site currently is covered with non-native and invasive plants including Echium candicans (Pride of Madiera) and Washingtonia robusta (Mexican fan palms).

The plan is to create a demonstration site that shows coastal community property stewards that Slowing, Spreading, and Sinking rainwater on hillsides is far superior to directing it off the property as quickly as possible, and that California native coastal flora can become a beautiful, flowering garden.  Alison Terry, of Terry Design, Inc., a G3 Certified Professional from 2010 will be leading the G3 Project Team, along with John Tikotsky, who will be creating the irrigation plans for the site.
