Ventura Ocean Friendly Garden Rocks Summer

California Natives Doing Their Thing In Ventura OFG

Rocks, mulch, camera, ACTION!

Starting Small Gives CA Natives Their Best Start

The Ocean Friendly Garden at Dan Long’s home in Ventura, CA is ready for its first close-up. Three hot months have passed since the City of Ventura, Surfrider Foundation’s Ventura Chapter, and multiple volunteers paid forward their professional development scholarships to the G3 Core Concepts Workshop by assisting in building this Ocean Friendly Garden, and the garden is looking absolutely beautiful by any standard. Dan is diligently hand-watering to establish the plants through the summer.  The natural wood mulch is keeping the garden soil cool and extending the moisture, so infrequent and deep watering is fulfilling the landscape’s needs.

We’re looking forward to cutting the curb as a demonstration of standard residential Best Management Practices for rainwater capture in the parkway planters.
