Surfrider San Diego Sunset Cliffshanger Watershed Basics Class

San Diego G3 Associate, Susan Krzywicki

Congratulations to G3 Associate and San Diego Chapter Ocean Friendly Gardens Committee Chair, Susan Krzywicki, who led the three hour Watershed Basics Class at Point Loma, kicking off the next OFG Series targeted at residents living near Sunset Cliffs.

Susan did a great job flying solo and overcoming a technical glitch from an IPad dead battery. Surfrider San Diego has been engaged in proposing simple, inexpensive, and distributed solutions that slow, spread and sink rainwater as an alternative to large and expensive end-of-pipe projects for slowing the ongoing erosion problem at Sunset Cliffs.

Fox 5 News showed up and covered the Sunset Cliffs story, and a feature article ran in the Peninsula Beacon, the local newspaper.

Sign up for the entire series, which includes a Hands-on Workshop in Site Evaluation and a Garden Assistance Party at the home of one of the Basics Class participants. The Site Evaluation HOW is scheduled for November 1oth. Join the group to learn HOW to look at your own home and see opportunities for building an Ocean Friendly Garden. Surfrider San Diego OFG Series 2012
