Project Description

Soil Summit Co-Host, UCLA Extension Horticulture and Gardening program provides a Certificate in Horticulture and Gardening.

This program gives a solid foundation in plant biology, soil health, plant identification, and horticultural care. The courses combine environmental stewardship with the art and science of horticulture. Completion of the Certificate inspires and enables students to: propagate, grow, and maintain plants; understand environmental systems employing the principles of soils, water, botany, and horticulture; identify and treat plant health issues, including common pests and microbial diseases; identify and categorize 200 regional and state plants by common name, genus, and species.
