JEFF BISHOP is a sustainability-focused business management professional with 15 years of multidisciplinary experience in directing high-profile management consulting, strategic planning, and project management activities. This includes areas such as energy management systems and environmental impacts, economic and policy advocacy, and sustainable program design and implementation. His goal is to impact positive change in buildings, food systems, natural resource management, water/energy use, and human and environmental health.
Jeff has worked for and on behalf of the San Diego Gas & Electric Company (SDG&E), the Bill and Melinda Gates Foundation, the United States Agency of International Development (USAID), and the San Diego Regional Chamber of Commerce. Jeff has a MPIA in International Management (MBA equivalent) from the University of California San Diego (UCSD) and a BA in Economics from Santa Clara University. He is also a LEED Green Associate, a Compost Educator for the Solana Center for Environmental Innovation, a Garden Guru and Educator for the Green Gardens Group (G3), and holds a Permaculture Design Certificate (PDC).
A few years ago he realized that many of the world’s problems can be solved with ecological design systems and sustainable solutions. Therefore, his commitment to the principles and practices of sustainability has led him to immerse myself in unique, hands-on experiences in recent years. For example, he lived on a couple of permaculture farms learning how to grow food in an ecological manner. In this capacity, he has gained a deeper appreciation and understanding of ecological systems and the many ways in which we can create more positive relationships between humans and our environment. His work has included demonstrating cutting-edge renewable energy, composting, regenerative agriculture, habitat revitalization, water conservation, and responsible resource management systems to diverse populations.
Jeff became a G3 Qualified Trainer in 2016 in San Diego, CA.
