Los Angeles Water Future (Less Turf. More Surf.)

LA Stormwater and LA Bureau of Sanitation Watershed Protection Division hosted a Low Impact Development (LID) outreach meeting to help spark interest in spreading the good word of watershed protection.

Wing Tam and Shahram Karaghani Talking LID

Wing Tam, Adel Hagekhalil, and Shahram Kharaghani, the LA Watershed Guys from the Watershed Protection Division were tour guides on a virtual tour of Los Angeles’ more prominent CA Proposition O sites, including Elmer Avenue and the South Los Angeles Wetlands Park.

Even with more pictures and the stand-up comedy of Adel (Rumor Has It he sings too), the story doesn’t quite gel into that catchy, ubiquitous soundbite a program really needs to grab the attention and prompt the regular Angeleno to take action.  Clearly LA Stormwater needs the assistance of experts in the buzz field — Los Angeles’ environmental community.

Let’s try this one, Los Angeles.  If you want to know the future of water in LA, just ask Surfrider’s Ocean Friendly Gardens Program to break it down for you:
