The Association of Professional Landscape Designers Greater Los Angeles District is delighted to welcome you to their Second Annual Garden Tour to be held on April 9th 2017 from 9:00 – 4:30. There are ten gardens on the tour. The five gardens in the morning are in West LA/Cheviot Hills and View Park neighborhoods. The 5 gardens in the afternoon start in West Hollywood and then move to 3 more gardens in Sherman Oaks and North Hollywood. The bonus reception garden is in Hollywood hills. Although open all afternoon, this garden will be open late, 4-6pm.

Come enjoy a gorgeous spring day in LA wandering through some of our designers most beautiful and inspiring landscapes. Wrap up the full day with refreshments and fantastic view of the Hollywood sign.

These gardens not only showcase interesting design ideas and exciting plants but all implement the Watershed Approach to Landscape Design.

The Watershed Approach allows the individual residential landscape help protect our environment. These gardens are all designed to hold as much water on the landscape as possible, which protects the ocean from polluting runoff and reduces the amount water required for irrigation, as well as doing its bit to replenish aquifers and improve our water supply. By building healthy, living soils plant are more vigorous and disease resistant. Selecting climate appropriate plants reduces the cost in water and maintenance and eliminates the need for chemical fertilizers and pesticides. Also on show are fruit and vegetable gardens, wildlife gardens and inspiring design features for outdoor living. The gardens follow state and local mandates to augment water supply, improve water quality, reduce runoff, reduce green waste and sequester carbon.

Designers, knowledgeable docents and homeowners will be present to answer your questions about the unique, sustainable gardens.

APLD is an association of professional landscape designers whose goals are to promote standards of excellence and professionalism and to partner with the green industry in educating consumers about the role and value of professional landscape design.
